For those of you who have already paid and registered you have been placed into a side so simply turn up on Saturday before 8.00am to register.
For those of you who haven't yet paid there are still 15 or so spots remaining so if you want to be a part of a great day get to the Sands this Friday night and fork over your hard earned to the boys doing the raffle or otherwise chance it and get to the beach at the crack of dawn on Saturday morning.
2008 Sands Hotel ‘Paul Baxter’ Shield Format & Schedule
Format
*80 surfing competitors.
*4 teams (containing 20 surfers in per team).
*5 heats are surfed with 4 designated surfers (including 1 power surfer) from each team making up the heat.
*50 minute heats to start on the hour.
*1 power surfer heat going for 1 hour.
7:15 - 8:00 Check in & Competitors Breakfast:
Note: Check in and registration on the day is from 7.15 - 8.00am (you must register). If you fail to show your spot will be taken by the 1st available surfer on the stand-by list

First heat: 09:00-09:50am
LGS Lesson for Cadets Micros and Junior Girls 10am
Second heat: 10:00-10:50am
Third heat: 11:00-11:50am
Retro fashion parade 11:55-12:00pm
(mystery judge to inspect fashions)
Fourth heat: 12:00-12:50pm
Fifth heat: 13:00-13:50pm
Power-Surfer Final: 14:0015:00pm
The Presentation and awards will be straight after the completion of the days surfing at the ‘Sands Hotel’ Maroubrafrom 4pm where we will be also having funky live entertainment and finger food. Children are also allowed and invited with adults. There will be a $200 Sands voucher for the Best dressed person at the Sands Hotel, raffle for another surfboard plus loads of other prizes
Note: Light BBQ lunch at 12:00pm. A limited amount of $2 Sausage sandwiches will be available for purchase.
