We had a record turnout for the 2008 membership / sign-up day last weekend. Plenty of familiar faces and just as many new members and friends were around to enjoy the great autumn weather, a few sausos, a few bevies and in Kalvin's case a few thousand too many beers and way too many tinnies of Jim Beam. The boys got to try out the clubs new pumping sound system, mixing it up with PHAT beats and funky hip-hop tunes, ensuring it was great afternoon.
What was most pleasing was all the ex-members making a return back to the club and re-joining, ensuring that the opens division will be very tightly contested this year. Additionally we had many new members come down on the day to join up and even a WQS surfer wanting to hone his skills against the Southend boys.
For all the new members (and returning members) we would like to officially welcome you to the club and hope you have an enjoyable year with us in 2008!
For those of you that missed the sign-up day please ensure you get down to Comp 1 on the 29th March at 7.00am sharp to register. If possible print and fill out rego form from The Club tab on the website prior to the day to ensure that we get the comp underway on time.
