We are giving away not one but '2 FREE Custom made MG SURFBOARDs’ (worth a combined value of around $1300!). The first board will be given to the best fancy dressed surfing competitor on the beach during the day. This year’s fancy dress theme is “TV & Movie stars of the 70’s & 80’s. The second Custom made surfboard will be raffled off. Tickets will be on sale throughout the day so make sure you hunt down the ticket seller and grab some tickets if you want a chance of winning it.

At the after-party and awards presentation (where the fun really begins) at the Sands Hotel we have plenty more prizes to be won. First prize for best dressed Female will be a $300 Myer voucher with the best dressed Male also receiving a $300.00 surf shop voucher. An Apple iPod worth over $1000 will be given away as a door prize for one very lucky person but you need to be there to win it.

We give these prizes away to encourage people to get into the spirit of things and have a good laugh at themselves. The day is all about having as much fun as possible and not taking yourself too seriously. Whilst this year the day is themed “TV & Movie stars of the 70’s & 80’s” we definitely encourage all versions of fancy dress and the crazier the better!

Its still not too late to put something together as this is one helluva great day (and night) and the more people that get into the theme of the day, the better it is for everyone. So make some creative effort to put together a recognisable costume for anything that was seen on the screen in that era; here's a few ideas to get the creative juices flowing:

• Superheroes and villans from superman to he-man, the Phantom to the silver surfer
• Star wars or trekky characters
• law enforcers like Magnum PI, Starsky & Hutch, Mad Max, Chips, the A-Team or Rambo
• other kooky characters like the YMCA dudes, Gilligan, the Munsters, Happy Days, Hulk Hogan or MASH
• Cartoon characters like the Jetsons and Flintstones, Fat Albert or Alf
