Remember too that it will be your last chance to register for the 2010 Sands Hotel Paul Baxter Shield before the registrations are open to the public, and with only 60 surfing spots available (many of which have already been filled) it is imperative that you bring down your $20 registration fee to reserve your spot. Southend alone has over 150 members so now is the time to have your chance at surfing immortality (having your name in 24pt Arial on the Paul Baxter trophy on the wall at the Sands Hotel). Entry is open to anyone aged 14 and over and includes a limited edition 2010 PBS T-shirt, breakfast and lunch on the sand, food at the Sands Hotel afterwards, drinks, great prizes, special guests and live entertainment.

The Sands Hotel Paul Baxter Shield is very different to the normal monthly club contests that we run. The Baxter  is a retro-themed, single & twin fin tag-team surfing event that is open to anyone (although the size and weight of the older style boards make it a tad too hard for grommets under 14 years). This years theme is “TV & Movie stars of the 70’s & 80’s” and we will again be giving away another ‘FREE Custom Made SURFBOARD’! The board will be given away as a prize for the best dressed (more details to be revealed shortly) so start to think about your get up and where necessary for the fellas, begin growing real facial hair as it scores higher than black biro.

Payment can also be put straight into the clubs bank account (please make sure that you use your name as the payment reference.)
