Winny was one of the founding members of Southend Boardriders way back in 1985. Along with being president of Southend for many years Winny also ran the Southside regional, State and National Titles. He also was head honcho of the famous Snickers Open in 2004 which saw the best of the best including Taj and Slater competing at Maroubra. He has now reached the top of the tree as CEO of Surfing NSW. If you ask me he has one of the best gigs in town, cruises all day talking shop with the the who’s who of surfing, a killer office which overlooks Maroubra Beach. He can be often spotted up there sipping latte’s with surfing industry gurus, pro surfers, politicians and beautiful supermodels. Winny well done. It's great to see that all your hard work over the years has been honoured and regognised by the folk at Surfing Australia.

Each year the Australian Surfing Awards are presented to recognize those who have continued to develop surfing in this country. The award night s include a number of support categories that recognize the broad spectrum of individuals and organizations who are involved in the industry through events, competition, business, media, clubs, administration or pioneering new initiatives.
