The Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the 2009 calendar year will be held on Saturday January 16, 2010 at 3.00pm at the ‘Sands Hotel’ (inside the private beer garden section).  All members, both social and competitive are welcome and encouraged to attend, and we are hoping you will want to have a say in how YOUR club is run and will attend.

2010 is going to be a very crucial year for the Southend Boardriders and we believe it is very important to continue to head in the same direction that the club has been currently heading in, but it is even more important to have a good strong team capable of actually running the club for 2010 and beyond.  If you think you have what it takes to positively contribute to your club or know anyone that you think could help out and make a difference, please encourage them to run for a position on the committee. We would also like to encourage some of our younger members and some of our female competitors to get more involved, as you are the future of this club.

This year there are actually four (4) committee positions that need to be contested which are set to go for two (2) consecutive year terms. If you are keen to become involved in the committee or if you just want to have a say in how YOUR club is run, the A.G.M is the place to do it.

*Please Note: As per the ‘Constitution’ there are a few things that need to done to either nominate yourself for a position on the committee or to put forward a request or a motion. Additionally, in order to vote you must have been a financial member during the 2009 year.

Notices of Motions

Anyone wanting to put forward a motion at the upcoming AGM please send an email to the admin@southendboardriders.com email address by the 02/01/2010. The email must state the motion and a brief explanatory note must be attached. The explanatory note is designed to assist members to understand why the motion has been put forward in the first place.  It will also allow everyone to make an informed decision on that matter. All motions will be considered and if a motioned is accepted & seconded, only then will all members that are present vote on the issue.

To nominate yourself for one of the committee positions you must also put this in writing prior to the 02/01/2010 (2 weeks prior to the AGM). The full Agenda of the AGM will be posted on the website by 09/01/2010 (1 week prior to the AGM).

The Four Positions to be contested are:

President                  (currently held by Weston moore)

Club Captain             (currently held by Matt Lawson)

Secretary/Treasurer (not currently held)

Committee member (R. Cass is up for nomination)

 *Please note that this meeting will be completely dry (no alcohol) until the meeting is complete (we will however put on a few drinks at the bar after the event is finished).
