The event was meant to be held on the same weekend as our clubs Forster Comp but due to flat conditions the comp was postponed. This has given us the chance to compete to enter the event. With such a strong junior crew at the club this year Southend has decided to field 2 sides in the event.

Team 1 hits the water at 9am and we are up against Ulladulla, Nth Shelley and Avalon 2. Team 2 will compete at 12pm against favourites Queenscliff, Euloura and Werri. If the teams are successful in getting through their 1^st heat they will move onto the Quarter finals on the Sunday.

All of the clubs competing in this event have entered strong sides but with the nucleus of last year’s Gromtag team still available to compete coupled with a strong mix of young ripper discovered this year both our sides will be in with a good chance.

A bus for the team has been arranged (departure time and venue to be advised) and we will be having a BBQ and a few drinks over there and making a good day of it. If you are keen to join us on the bus contact Wez ”The Prez” Moore on 0419 495 702. Spots are limited so get onto it right away.

We are encouraging all members, friends and families to come along for the day to support our highly competitive teams at what should be a great day. Our experience from team comps in the past have shown that a vocal crew of supporters on the beach makes a huge difference to the judges perception of the surfing - so come along and yell like hell to get our boys over the line.
