28 year old Aussie, Mick Fanning was crowned 2009 ASP World Champion today
This year's O'Neil Gromtag will be held at Avalon Beach on Sunday December 13. Only 20 clubs from across the State were invited to compete this year and Southend Boardriders will once again be fielding a good competitive team full of young surfers hoping to make their mark. Southend will be in the water first heat of the day at 07.30am and will be up against Southbridge, Queenscliff and North Steyne. We would love to see as much support from all of you as possible to help cheer us on.

The making of 256 was an absolute pleasure. We hired two 28-foot motorhomes and took a bunch of the hottest junior surfers in Oz on a good ol fashioned American road trip. From San Francisco to San Diego Owen Wright Stuart Kennedy Dean Bowen Garrett Parkes Mitch Crews and Noah Lane dodged fist wielding locals in search of the American dream and found some fun waves along the way.
