Comp 01 for 2010 is on March 20

Southends first club contest of the 2010 year will be held Saturday March 20. If you havent aleady renewed your membership make sure are there nice and early to join up.

 

2010 Registration Day

Saturday March 06. The committee will be taking registration applications and membership fees for 2010 between 12pm and 2pm in front of the Southend surf club.

Discussion Forum Instructions

The discussion forums are free to view for any visitors to the site, but you must register or log in in order to start a new thread or post a comment to a forum. View the forum here otherwise read on to see how it all works...

Navigating the Forums.

The main section on the Discussion Forum page displays a general overview of the Forums that are active on the site. Also displayed along with each  Forum is the number of Threads and Posts in each forum and the name and date of the last person who has made a post in each forum

From this list you can click on a specific discussion forum to load a preview of all of the Threads available in that Forum. A Thread is basically like the main topic or question that someone has posted to the Forum in order to generate some discussion. The specific opinions and comments made by each user within a Thread are called Posts. Clicking on a specific Thread will then load all of the Posts associated with that Thread.

How to start a Thread.

  1. Navigate your way to the specific Forum that is relevant for the Thread you wish to start.
  2. You will now see a list of all of the other threads available in that Fourm. At the top of the Forum box, click on the link titled “New Thread”
  3. In the subject field, type in the title of the thread you are about to create. To make sure you get the maximum amount of views and relevant responses, ensure the title you choose will give a clear indication to other users about the topic you wish to discuss
  4. Further down the page, add your specific question or opinion into the text box
  5. Click on the Notification check box if you wish to be emailed when somebody posts a response to your Thread
  6. Click Update to submit your thread to the Forum

How to Post to a Thread

  1. Navigate your way to the specific Thread that you wish to Post to, by locating it in the relevant Forum and clicking on the title/subject of the Thread shown in the ‘Threads’ column
  2. At the right hand side of the Thread comment, click on the Reply button.
  3. Add your comment into the text box toward the bottom of the page
  4. Click on the Notification check box if you wish to be emailed when somebody posts a further response to your Post
  5. Click Update to submit your Post to the Thread
