After 26hrs of exhausting travel and after copping a thousand and forty questions and an hour in customs I was finally allowed into the party town of Rio. I walked through the doors at the airport and was greeted by my main man in Rio - Fernando who had a bunch of groupies hanging off his arms. I thought to myself that a boy. The surf in Rio was average but the action on the beach was unbelievable!!!!! So many scantily clad hotties on the beach over here that love to flaunt it. Man this is paradise. My 1st night on the town in Rio was sick. They love Aussies over here and it totally helped that Fernando is the man over here. He was getting us into all the bars drinking free chicks all over us. Felt like a king. Woke the next morning with the biggest hangover but it was all made better by the fact that I had 2 hot nude Brazzos girls in my bed with me 

It was the same thing for the next for days wake up hungover, beach, eat, party & sleep. I needed to get out of there so I grabbed my 2 new girls and headed to the scene of the next CT & QS. Boys Ubatuba is unreal. It's like a super super fun park with an amazing variety of beachies. Conditions are prime for aerial action. Abt 20 different breaks within 25 min of the main town to choose from to go surfing at. Mate now this is the real Brasil. Forget the big dirty city of Rio Ubatuba is the spot. Sun, fun waves and wall to wall eye candy on every beach.

Anyways back to the reason I'm here - the QS comp. After battling through 250 competitors in 3-4ft waves the final of the Onbongo Pro came down to Brazilian Renan Rocha & Aussie Troy Brooks. Apparently Renan didn't even think about competing in the Onbongo Pro Surfing 2006, but some friends gave him the incentive he needed and everything turned out great. He kept beating his opponents until getting into the contest final to win the event with a fantastic performance. The crowd was greater than the days before at Itamambuca and when Brazilian Renan Rocha finally won the final against aussie Troy Brooks, people on the sand went crazy, cheering, screaming and yawling. After his win Renan retired from the competitive arena. What a way to go out. Runner up was Aussie Troy Brooks was also very stoked with the 2nd, which puts him in the 2007 WCT. Well done Brooko and other aussies who went well were Glenn Hall = 5th & Rhys Bombaci =3rd.

In other news Dustin Moore ( Wez's brother ) has resurfaced from the gay bars of San Fran and emailed me a report of what went on in the 4 star O'Neill Pro in Steamer Lane in the US. I was like yeah whatever champ and I'll never publish your crap. No second chances in this game. Apparently he really apologetic and has seen the light. He has fallen in love with a lovely redhead chick who has 6 kids and lives in a trailer park halfway between San Fran & San Jose. Good luck junior. Anyway the upshot of his report was that Dee Why's Toby Martin snuck home in a thriller defeating the massive seppo contingent.

In other WQS news Canary Islands - Kai Otton broke his WQS duck by scoring a huge victory over Oderlei Coutinho from Brazil in perfect 6ft waves in the 4 star Canaries Pro. Sam Page was =3rd and Matt Wilkinson Drew Courtney & Nic Muscroft came in =5th.

Well after checking out the 1st round of the Brazzo Pro here in Itamambuca I'm getting outta here. With no Slater, no Occy, small waves and suffering from a small rash around my cods (because of the surfing. get your minds out of the gutter) which has stopped me from surfing and is stopping me from conquering the lovely Brazo girls I've made the decision to chase big waves in Hawaii rather than chase the skirt here in Brazil. I've been on the phone to the boys who have already set up camp in Hawaii and it has been going off. I can't wait to get over there and kick some Hawaiian arse, drop in on them, insult them, beat them up if I have to, sit the deepest at Pipe and Sunset and catch the biggest angriest waves I can find. CMON I'm pumped. I'll let you know how I get on in my next post.
