What a great surprise Saturday morning turned out to be. Was staying in Shell Harbour over the weekend and the prospects for a south swell and NE winds looked like the Farm was all set for some fun little waves. As it turned out it was a good 3 - 5ft and pretty powerful ... woooot.
Unlike most days at the farm it was uncrowded, probably due to the fact it wasn't 2ft. Picked off some absolute pearlers and managed to push my 6'2" to it's limit on some of the sets. Stayed out for a couple of hours and was stuffed after a couple of dozen 100m rides to the shore. The swell looked to be dropping and the crowd was starting to fill in, so I bailed to try again later. Spent the arvo hanging out with my sons instead and took them swimming and relaxed a bit.
Sunday morning and I was psyched to hit again. Unfortunately it had backed right off over night and was 2ft, and hence pretty crowded. They were mostly kooks, so I picked off all the waves I wanted. The board was ripping in the smaller waves, but I prefered the bigger conditions with the board skipping out.
Spent the arvo with the boys swimming and watching SpongeBob on the tele. It's good to spend time with them every now and then.
